NATIONAL VIRAL HEPATITIS CONTROL PROGRAMME (NVHCP)
- Introduction:
Aims & Objectives
- Elimination of Hepatitis C by 2030
- Achieve significant reduction in the infected population, morbidity and mortality associated with Hepatitis B and C viz. Cirrhosis and Hepato-cellular carcinoma (liver cancer)
- Reduce the risk, morbidity and mortality due to Hepatitis A and E.
- Operationalizing National Viral Hepatitis Control Programme in Mizoram
- Civil Hospital, Aizawl the biggest hospital in the state has been operationalized as Model Treatment Centre since 8thNovemeber, 2019.
- 1 Physician has been identified as the Nodal Officer at MTC.
State Laboratory :
- Civil Hospital, Aizawl has been operationalized as the State Laboratory.
- 1 Microbiologist has been identified as the Nodal Officer for State Lab.
District Laboratory:
- Civil Hospital, Lunglei& State Referral Hospital, Falkawn have been operationalized as District Laboratory.
- 1 Microbiologist each has been identified as the Nodal Officer for the District Lab.
DTC (District Treatment Centre):
District Treatment Centre has been operationalized at District Hospital Champhai, Mamit, Lunglei, Serchhip, Kolasib, Lawngtlai, State Referral Hospital, Falkawn&Siaha.
State Viral Hepatitis Management Unit (SVHMU):
- SVHMU was set up at Directorate of Hospital & Medical Education, New Secretariat Complex, Khatla under the guidance of State Nodal Officer.
- Target
- Elimination of Hepatitis C by 2030
- Achieve significant reduction in the infected population, morbidity and mortality associated with Hepatitis B and C.
- Screening of High Risk Groups on Hepatitis B & C.
- Screening of Pregnant women on Hepatitis B.
- Reduce the risk, morbidity and mortality due to Hepatitis A and E
- Activities (FY 2023 - 2024) :-
- Meeting on Screening of Prisoners with Mizoram State AIDS Control Society (MSACS) on 3rd April, 2023
- Meeting on State Oversight Committee on Prison & Other Closed Settings for Integrated SI, HIV, TB, hepatitis(ISHTH), Campaign on 17th April, 2023
- Re-construction of District Level Viral Hepatitis Management Unit from April 2023.
- Monitoring & Supervisory Visit of District Treatment Centre, District Hospital, Serchhip on 13th May, 2023
- Meeting under NVHCP with FIND on 24th May, 2023.
- Monitoring Visit of District Laboratory with FIND at State Referral Hospital, Falkawn on 25th May, 2023.
- Monitoring Visit of Model Treatment Centre & OST Centre at Civil Hospital, Aizawl on 25th May, 2023.
- Meeting on ISHTH Campaign on 14th June, 2023 at the Office Chamber of the Mission Director, NHM,Dinthar.
- Regional Review Meeting at Siliguri, West Bengal from 19th – 20th June, 2023.
- Meeting under NVHCP with RCH, State Immunization & National Tubeculosis Control Programme on 4th July, 2023
- Orientation and Capacity Building Workshop for OST Staff at Auditorium, Civil Hospital, Aizawl on 24th July, 2023.
- Awareness cum Observance of World Hepatitis Day at Auditorium, Aizawl West College, Dinthar on 29th July, 2023.
- Launching the project “HCV Intervention among PWIDs in Mizoram” in collaborattion with FIND, NVHCP & State AIDS Control Society, Mizoram on 3rd August, 2023.
- Training of ASHA & H&WC on 11th& 25th August & 1st September, 2023 @ Auditorium,Civil Hospital, Aizawl in collaboration with RCH & NVHCP
- Online Training on NVHCP-MIS Portal for OST&TI sites of Mizoram on 6th September, 2023
