Award Distribution for ‘World Antimicrobial Awareness Week 2024-2025’

World Anti-microbial awareness week is observed every year which aims to increase awareness of antimicrobial resistance and to encourage best practices among the general public, healthcare workers and policy makers to avoid further emergence and spread of drug resistance infection.

           “World antimicrobial awareness week” (WAAW) in 2024-2025 was observed from 18^th -24^th November, 2024. The theme given by WHO was “Educate, Advocate, Act now”. The overarching slogan WAAW continued to be “Antimicrobials: Handle with care”

          In Mizoram, the observance of WAAW was held at different Health facilities under H&FW Department. Action taken reports were received from 10 DH & SDH and 5 CHC & PHC their performance was graded by WAAW committee.

          The following health facilities were awarded prizes as given below:

1) 1^st Prize – Civil Hospital, Aizawl

2) 2^nd Prize – District Hospital, Siaha

3) 3^rd Prize – Lengpui CHC

          The prizes were distributed to the awardees on 12^th August’2025 by Dr. Lalthlengliani, Principal Director H&FW at ATI Auditorium, MINECO Aizawl.
