No.Z.11011/18/2007-HFW:In exercise of the powers conferred under section 16A of the Pre-conception & Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (Prohibition of Sex Selection) Act, 1994, the Governor of Mizoram is pleased to constitute ‘State Inspection and Monitoring Committee’ (SIMC) consisting of the following members with immediate effect and until further order.
1.Director, Hospital & Medical Education- Chairman
2.State Nodal Officer (PC & PNDT)- Member Secretary/Convener
3.Joint Director (Planning)- Member
4.Consultant (PC & PNDT)- Member
5.Programme Assistant (PC & PNDT)- Member
6.DEO (PC& PNDT)- Member
7.All Chief Medical Officers- Member
8.All District Medical Superintendent- Member
State Inspection and Monitoring Committee (SIMC) shall have the following functions
- To inspect all registered ultrasound centres within the State.
- To find out any unregistered ultrasound machine
- To assist the State Supervisory Board in taking action against unregistered ultrasound centres and violation of PC & PNDT Act.
- To conduct Medical Audit of ultrasound centre.
