Health & Family Welfare Department,GoM in collaboration with Geo-Hazards International (GHI) and GeoHazards Society (GHS) is organizing a 2-day training program on ‘Hospital Disaster Management Planning’at the Directorate of Health & Medical Education auditorium, MINECOon 18,19 April 2023.The training program was inaugurated by Dr. PC Lalramliana, Principal Director, H&FW Dept and he stressed on the importance of Hospital Disaster Resiliency urging participants to make the most from this training. Resource persons from GeoHazards, Dr. Hari Kumar and Mr. Pranav Sethi are empowering participants from 28 hospitals (Govt hospitals and empanelled Private Hospitals) across Mizoram. Different topics such as hazards that can affect the health facilities, climate resilience of health facilities, hospital structural and non-structural safety, preparedness and planning, functionality of critical utilities of the hospitals will be covered.
GeoHazards have been working in Aizawl on earthquake and landslide risk mitigation for the past ten years and closely work with the Disaster Management & Rehabilitation Department and relevant stakeholder departments of the GoM.
